Sekirei is a manga series in Japanese by Sakurako Gokurakuin. It is an anime adaption directed and produced by Keizō Kusakawa and Seven Arcs. Sekirei was written by Takao Yoshioka. The series was first serialized in December 2004 and its sequel was serialized in May 2017. Until 2017, the series was licensed in North America by Funimation. What is Sekirei?
It is a race of super-powered humanoids who are physically indistinguishable from humans with their similar genetic codes. The series is a romantic comedy and also revolves around the genres of Harem and supernatural. The term ‘Sekirei” was taken from a Japanese Wagtail bird. Minato Sahashi is the central character of the series who fails in entrance examination twice meets few super-powered girls called ‘Sekirei’ and then his life changed.

THE PLOT
In Tokyo, a 19year old young and intelligent Minato Sahashi fails in his college entrance examination twice due to his lack of self-confidence. One day he meets a girl called Musubi who is a ‘Sekirei’ who in turn appoints Minato as her ‘Ashikabi’.
It is nothing but a set of mysterious humans who have the genetic trait and are able to make a contract with seikirei’s by kissing which binds them to use the supernatural powers in the elimination battles.
The Sekirei fight is a competition known as the “Sekirei Plan” organized by the chairman, founder of powerful MBI Corporation named Hiroto Minaka, So the twist appears when Minato makes a contract with others, hence allowing him to find a way to survive from the life-threatening battles and from his other partner’s competition for him.
WHAT HAPPENED PREVIOUSLY
The second season titled Sekirei: Pure Engagement was telecasted in Japan on 4th July 2010. The opening and ending themes of the first season are “Sekirei” and “Dear Sweet Heart”.
Feathers is the term for individual episodes of the series representing the birds and the process of winging of Sekireis. Season 2 of ‘Sekirei’ consists of 12 episodes that center around the second stage of the battles The Sekirei’s plan.
Musubi was threatening Karasuba with the death of Minoto’s others Sekirei’s and later Karasuba will be defeated by Musubi. Everyone returns to their normal life after the destruction of MBI Towers and all the data was recovered by Seo who gets appreciation from Higa.
Towards the end of the second season, Chiho was cured of her sickness and with that, the season ends. Happy ending!
SEASON TWO – EXPECTED PLOT
The first seasons had a huge fan base and are waiting for the third season. So, the expected plot of the third season might begin with Matsu re-examining the data he secured from MBI Towers and finds out the truth behind Sekirei and Ashikabis.
Meanwhile, the romantic relationship between Minato and Musubi will start provoking jealousy among other Sekirei’s of Minoto. But as soon as he discovers the truth about the Sekirei’s he starts to fall apart from Musubi which will lead to the huge complexity to defeat the villains in the series.

The series has dozens of characters that are considered to be the central characters. The protagonist role Minoto Sahashi was acted by Joel McDonald and Musubi was Alexis Tipton. The other characters are as follows

RELEASE DATE
Season one and two of ‘Sekirei” was a huge hit among the fans and it is been more than a decade since the finale season that aired on 26th September 2010 and yet there is no official announcement of the third season. The expectations of the third season are bleak as the Funimation seems to be unwilling to bring the third season. There is no announcement from any side of the series which indirectly suggests us to not get too much excited.
Do you want to know about the plot? Well, then keep waiting for the official announcement from Space Arcs studio as they are the only people who know about the Manga series Sekirei’s updates. An anonymous user released a set of jumbled numbers and asked fans to solve the puzzle in order to know the release date.
