Hyouka is a Japanese novel by Honobu Yonezawa published in the year 2001. The novel has six volumes published in the years 2002 and 2016. A manga adaptation began its serialization in the year 2012 by Taskohna in Shonen Ace magazine.
The anime series had 22 episodes in total which was directed and designed by Yasuhiro Takemoto and Kyoto Animation. The series first aired on 22nd April 2012. The novel was also adapted as a film titled ‘Hyouka: Forbidden Secrets’ by Mari Asato and was released on 3rd November 2017.
What is the genre? The series is an anime mystery and slice of life. Funimation and Muse Communication licensed the series and premiered in CTC, Sun TV, Tokyo MX.

PLOT
The series revolves around the main character Oreki Hotarou’s life in the Classic Literature Club who was forced by his sister to join. His sister is a former member of the club and she graduated from his school. Oreki meets a mysterious girl named Chitanda Eru who kept him engaged to solve mysterious events because of her curiosity to know what happens around her.
Towards the end, Oreki and his friends found staying in the club is interesting. It is clear that the plot is based on a Lighthearted show which might seem uninteresting but believe me, once you start you will be sucked into it completely! There are many mysterious mishappenings that will keep you active and helps you sympathize with the characters.
The whole series covers the same members of the first year of high school students and the ending left out the audience hanging without any conclusion. Maybe the second season will be a little exaggerated if there is an idea of making season 2 ever. Art and music have also played a vital role in the success of the show.
SEASON 2
The whole anime series focuses on the life of high school along with some mysterious events. It’s been eight years of the first season released with 22 episodes. Oreki, despite being intelligent and doesn’t want to use his powers anywhere and he cares about nothing.
He is also said to be emotionless and also expressionless who prefers solitude. The first season seems to be conclusive as it does not have any incomplete plots left! So, the chances for the second season remains uncertain.
CAST
The characters are deeply rooted in the story and in their personal reasons. The personalities complement each other in the show yet sometimes cause trouble. The characters eventually grow and develop with their experiences.
The Romance between the characters is the main plot that especially attracts the audience. Season one of Hyouka was released on 23rd April 2012 and it’s been a long wait for all the anime fans. Do you want to know something exciting? Yes, so the release is expected to fall in 2021! Yet a humble request, don’t have high expectation about the release of season 2 but just wait for the official announcement.
